KARAT, a Moscow-based cheese factory, has been undergoing a complex rebranding, and KARAT Cottage is their latest endeavor. The new dairy brand includes items such as cottage cheese, sour cream, and butter. Depot WPF designed this third line, creating something modern and fun.
"The strong and emotionally warm naming ('Cottage' or 'a la homemade') mandated how its packaging design would look like. It doesn't contain any complicated color schemes and photos, it's simple and even naive at some point. Looking at the packaging you understand that this item is produced at a modern factory, but it's absolutely simple and natural."
Taking the idea of a warm and welcoming brand, the packaging is delightful and refreshing. Images of fresh fruit appear in the arms of a smiling cartoon girl who is instantly endearing to consumers. Soft colors allow the hues in the images of the fruit and product to pop, and the mix of cartoons with actual photos is fresh and lively.
Depot WPF's strategic director Fara Kuchkarov says, "We decided these products are perfect to be united under one brand: all of them are 100% natural, produced following a simple recipe and are offered at an affordable price."
